Our house is located in a quiet residential street at the edge of the village of Weilerbach. Right outside the door, just a short walk away you will find the Pfälzer Land bike trail that links to the regional Barbarossa bike trail, a circular hiking trail through the “Krause Bruch” nature reserve and bird sanctuary, several leisure facilities, and the entrance to a pole walking course.
Weilerbach has an excellent infrastructure. A range of shops, inviting restaurants, pharmacy, doctors and banks are all within walking distance.
Avid hikers will find Germany’s largest continuous forest area, the Palatinate Forest biosphere reserve, a perfect place for their hobby. A first-rate athletic challenge for mountain bikers is the Palatinate Forest mountain bike park with its 300 kilometers of well-marked routes and several single trails. And golfers will appreciate the scenic golf course in Mackenbach, just 3 km away. A section of the „Route of St. James“ leading to Santiago de Compostella in Spain follows the historic abbey route from Worms to Metz (France) and runs just 1 km from here.
